The Rotary Club of Leicester is one of the UK’s longest running Rotary Club’s, putting the charity’s motto of ‘Service Above Self’ into action, and promoting positive change in Leicestershire and across the World. By focusing on 7 core principals, they are able to support local and international projects as well as providing humanitarian aid to people in need.
The Rotary Club of Leicester website had been live for many years, so it was starting to experience functionality issues due to outdated coding and systems.
In addition to this, the overall design required a refresh and the content needed to be updated to better focus on the projects the charity is working on, the club’s meetings and events, and how people could get involved.
Although Easy Internet support’s various charities and good causes each year, the Rotary website was our biggest project as it represents a global brand.
The first step of the web design project was to establish the focuses for the content, which information should be removed, and which should be retained and updated. This, along with the charities extensive branding guidelines allowed us to begin creating the overall look and feel of the website. The client wanted a modern, vibrant design with images that represented the mix of volunteers and the activities they carry out. They also wanted to include a variety of content types such as videos, pdf’s, and shorter blocks of content to keep the site engaging and visually appealing.
Finally, the website was optimised for use on a variety of devices and SEO was included to help them be found for their main keywords.
Our web designers and developers created an easy to use website that features a fun and modern design.
The site includes a drag and drop editor, allowing the charities committee members and officers to make changes as and when required without any coding knowledge.
Visitors can quickly locate information about the club’s meetings including the schedule of speakers. The events page includes a calendar that pulls information directly from Eventbrite, so the charity only has to update the information in one place.
